hospitals and stuff

My dad has been drifting in and out of hospitals since the start of the year.. he goes for treatments and comes home and basically has been a wanderer since new years day.. at the moment we are having some hassles with getting information about him and his condition and the plans for his therapy.. basically the dr's talk to dad, but he is sick so he gets confused and forgets things or misunderstands and like most people remembers questions to ask after the dr's have gone.. so when we ask him what is happening he has no idea.. also the dr's change their mind all the time.. It makes it really hard... he is supposed to be leaving hospital today but we have no idea what is going to happen to him after that.. he is still having problems with his arm and big lumpy things and I guess they will decide what to do soon.. its usually a group decision.. like the dr's get some tests done and then think about what they plan to do.. (usually they tell my dad about 5 different possobilities) then they have a meeting to decide which is the best way forward.. and so then they choose one of those possobilities and go with it.. It must be so hard being a dr in a public hospital.. you would see 100 people each day and every one has something different... so anyway it should all work out for my dad.. Sabine has been giving advise on what to do in regards to care that is available for him.. thank goodness we have her.. you would just get swallowed up in the system and not know all the things that are available for you.. especially when you aren't feeling your best.. you need to rely on other people to find out information, get details, organise meetings etc.. madness the whole thing is.. I was getting worried about it all last week.. but I think we are as organised as can be at the moment..
