there are some strange things

there are some strange things abut nz that really aren't strange just a tad different.. like :
superettes - supermarkets,
trundlers - trolleys,
tramping - hiking,
most petrol stations are not self serve, a nice man will come out to fill your car with fuel,
the price of petrol can stay the same for days and will not vary between companies or towns,
museums, gallaries and some attractions like the seal colony are all free.. the will usually have a donations box.. I like to put some money in cos it would take a lot of maintenance for all these services..

oohh great excitement we are

oohh great excitement we are in westport today on the west coast near the top of the south island.. we left glaciers this mornignn and now have seen sealas basking in the sun on the rocks and playing in the waters.. what a life.. wish i was a seal.. heehee..

so we are stopping here for the night and tomorrow it is off to more thermal reserves.. ace.. we can sit in the stinky water and feel yummy.. I cant wait..

I am so tired now..

I am so tired now.. oohh I think I need some ice cream to keep me going.. hhmm perhaps it is diner time.. it it nearly 6 pm.. oohh well.. better be off..

oohh so tired.. today we

oohh so tired.. today we went on a heli hike to fox glacier.. it was ace.. we hiked for like 3 hours.. we weren't sure if it was going to go ahead as there was lots of rain and clouds and stuff... but we went and it was fine.. and we ran around and climbed and took pictures and there was heaps of stuff.. it was very exciting.. there are some tousrists behind me trying to find out about things to see the glacier.. funny.. ahh welll..

this moreing sabine rang up..

this moreing sabine rang up.. oohh dear.. it sounds like our house has been turned upside down.. apparently all the curtains have been re done by gertrude.. hilkton and sabine awill be getting rid of our old dishwasher.. and they have got us a new doonah!.. i hope they dusted.. man there was dust everywhere.. probsbly from when the neighbours were still building..

hhm today we are in

hhm today we are in te anua.. i think .. hhmm .. te anau.. almost the same..

phil is hovering over my shoulder.. his pinkuter is broke and he has none.. oohh.. poor phili.. he will be fine..

so we got here earlier and not been doing too much.. i have had an ice cream.. yummy a orange choc chip.. and we have had lunch. .yummy burgers.. and we played mini golf.. hoorah! i love mini golf..

tomorrow morning we are off on a tour of doubtful sounds.. it should be good fun.. oohh wea re also going to see more glow worm caves this afternoon..

yesterday we stayed in twizel

yesterday we stayed in twizel again after our glacier experience.. it was great.. we went in a little van with a dutch couple to come location then had to walk (.. ohh we had tour guides also.. ) for about 20 mins till be got to the edge of the glacier lake.. the glacier is actually shrinking.. as in it melts more than snow lands at the top of it.. so it is desreasing in size.. and all this melting glacier is making a lake.. apparently the lake has only been going for like 20 years and it is estimated taht in 50 years the glacier will have made the lake much bigger (i foget how much) and that it will start moving up hill so that land will be in between the glacier and the lake.. amazing.. so we got to ride around in a boat and touch the ice bergs that have broken off.. we also got to eat some.. hhmm tasted oka.. apparently it will take 500 years for the snow that landed this year to make it to the end of the glacier.. oohh we were looking at the tasman glacier up next to mt cook.. everything is just so huge.. you start to loose distance.. cos there is nothing to compare against.. anayay we also walked on an ice berg.. I was a bit afraid.. cos the lake water is like .5 degress in the first few centimetres or so and less than that deeper.. it is also like 180 metres deep.. so i didn't feel like going for a dip.. or being crushed by falling ice crystals.. the ice bergs are so dirty and also the front of the glacier.. it is all rock and crushed rock that has been picked up during its 500 years travelling down the mountain and so as the ice is melting all the dust and rock is coming to the top.. pretty yucky looking.. also pretty scary as we are riding along the edge of it rocks are falling off all the time.. the guide wouldn't take us close to some bits cos apparently there are sections ready to fall off and these bits were like the size of houses.. so yeah i'm glad she didn't want to go near it..

well now we are in

well now we are in queenstown.. very exciting.. we are not dong any of the ungy or boating or diving or skiing or any adventerous stuff.. we are just passing through to doubtful sounds..

oohh I just saw my last blog.. we now have a beautiful car.. we were expecting somthing like a camry.. cos we had a corolla last island and asked for an upgrade cos it was kind of tiny and we have heaps of luggage.. well any way don't know what happened.. perhahps they ran out of camry's but we got a subaru forrester.. hoorah! its red so it goes faster.. and well it has compartments everywhere.. very exciting..

hhmm.. waiting for the rental

hhmm.. waiting for the rental car to show up at the hotel.. rather annoting.. we have been waiting fora while.. they are late.. Phil got the hotel staff to call.. and appaarently it will be another 15 mins.. ohh joy.. I am playing on the pinkuters now..

we so have to go to Denny's for dinner.. we went to one in auckland.. and ohh my gods.. they have the most fabulous oreo's sundae.. it is just divine.. they are open 24 hours and there is one about 6 blocks from the hotel.. oohh i think we will have to fo .. when i get those midnight cravings.. oohh we have to check our washing.. bye

today was good fun.. we

today was good fun.. we got up wandered around and went to visit the visiter information site.. got some brochures and planned out the rest of our holiday.. the weekend berfore we leave is a long weekend here.. so we wanted to get organised so tyhat things wouldn't be booked out.. it was very exciting.. we spent like $1000 in there and that wasn't incvludding our accomodation.. all thaty is pre paid.. so we are going on a helihike to a glacier.. and a boat ride around some ice bergs.. the brocchure says so close you can touch and suck on teh ice bergs!.. YUCK! I don;t hink I will be doing thata... also a train ride throught the mountauins that is supposed to be spectacular and a boat trip around doubtful sounds.. so we are all set.. I now have to look up the thermal springs place in hanmer.. there web site is hotfun.co.nz that sounds so rude.. anyway .. the last thermal reserver we went to didn't have lots of vacancies for thermal treatments in ht edays we wanted.. so we are going to book ahead... i think we need a mud wrap .. and an exfoliaating dalt rub and a bunch of other stuff.. ohoh.. sounds like a great time..

oohh... we are now in

oohh... we are now in chrustchurch all liquored up.. hheee.. well we are dong some laundry and don't want to go far from the hotel so that we can swap from washer to dryer and check up on it ans everythings... so we haev been at the bar.. I have had some yummy vodka raspberrys and a fruit tingle.. the bar man didn't know what it was.. i had to explain.. he then decided that it looked good ans was going to make one for him self later on.. also there was this lady tyoing on teh pinkuter and she said that she had 4 more paragraphs to tyoe and that would take her 20 mins to do.. man 20 mins.. should have taked no more than 2 mins.. oohh well.. may be she dosen't use computers that often..

oohh thought I had better

oohh thought I had better publish it before I lost it all and had to ype it again..

so i had mae up done.. and I said to kate (one of Phil's music friends who just happened to work at the beauyt parlour) that when I had my rial the other day the contrast between my upper chest, armsand neck was too much for my face.. so I got all coloured in.. ie she covered all my upper bit that would be showing with some kind of browner up.. hhe.ee.. anywya that went well .. we had some time to kill so we went shopping.. wandered around eastland.. we were looking for a hand bag for rach.. there was nothing good..

so off to the hair place.. we popped in home.. Phil had been busy ironing and cleaning beofre we went away.. Simon is looking after our house.. oohh by the way we got a phone call from sabine this moringin .. they are re arranging our place.. and did we mind ?.. well I mean there is really nothing much I can do to stop them.. I said they could do some gardening.. hopefully they havn't gone to crazy.. but knowing how much sabine loves to re arrange furnture we could be in trouble..

ohh yes back to the hair.. i had it done in curls worn up iwht butterflys stuck in... not real ones of course.. oohh it looked good.. so back to belgrave.. and one drink under the belt on the drive back things were looking good.. Philwas starting to worry about where i was the.. the photographer was there ready to click away.. so i got dressed.. put on jewels and sash's and made my way out into the muddy world.. as i carried my dress araound..

peope had started arriving.. and they all stared at phil and i it was kind of strange.. they all came over to say hello and hoorah and then wandered off to chat and look at me.. hhmm.. Phil and i chatted till it was time.. posed for photos and then i was very nervous.. and i stood up the front and gripped phils hand.. also i had to stand on a funny angle so that i could haev firm ground as i was sinking into the ground..

oohh the ceremony seemed to go forever!!!.. i was rather nervous and apparently made lots of facial expressions.. (photos as soon as i get them).. anyway there was talk and then Phil and I had to say our bit.. I can't even remember what i had to say or what i did.. but someone has it on video they can show me.. so then we swapped rings and signed things and had to great people for congratulations.. oohh.. o that was about it..

group potos were next.. so so so so sso painful. cos everyone had run off to get drinks and snacks.. phil and i had a few shots of just us and then it was off to enjoy ourselves..

we are drank and ate and dranks and then ate ckae and said thanks and Gary said some things.. not sure what they were but they werent too bad.. cake was great.. a huge tower of little cup cakes.. there were 5 kinds of caeks. and the chocolte wa yummo!

then oohh.. chocolates.. duc dor truffle things and then mini ice creams on sticks.. oohh I ate 4 of those and then felt really sick.. so that was about it.. I might add more as I think of it.. but my hands are getting tired now.. I haven't had to d typign for over a week..

so things are going along

so things are going along nicely.. the wedding was a huge success.. from what I can tell everone had a fabulous time.. i know I did..

we stayed at the place on friday night.. during the day friday was very stress ful.. i had to ack for the night, for the wedding day and so that we ould leave on sunday safternoon to go to the airport.. there was many thigns to do.. i was gettig cranky. .. hhee.. i get cranky often.. but all went okay.. we stayed had drinks.. laughed and ate tonnes of junk food.. rach and jo were there.. as was carolyn and ya, sue and gary, hilton and sabine, andrew arived later and phil and i went to bed early as we were very tired and had a big day ahead of us.. the others played games and drank port to the early hours of the morning.. the glen harrow gardens in Belgrave in which we stayed was absolutely gorgous.. it was so nice and the cottages were fabulous..

the next day involved gettig up early.. oohh it was a big day.. i had to get back to ringwood for a 10 am hair appointment.. i got rach and jo out of bed almost and we went off to make me beautiful.. i took my m+m's stach that Margy had given me earlier.. hoorah for chocolate..

oohh dear Phil is doing

oohh dear Phil is doing work now.. I think some one broke something.. hehe.. oohh he says he is organising new internet fr home.. i think that counts as work.. ahh well..

oohh Phil and I are

oohh Phil and I are in Wellington.. we are at the information booth playing on the internet.. hoorah for technologies.. so we are touring around getting rained on and eating many foods.. mostly pizza and indian.. yummy.. NZ is just like OZ.. lots of stuff is the same.. ie shops and businesses.. and roads and stuff.. we are playing on macs.. hhmm i have nver actually used them beore.. things are all different.. like the mouse.. man it is so slow.. i am sure that muct be an option..

I just remembered that I need to find my passport.. I am going to do that right now.

Phil just came in with

Phil just came in with his new ring stuck to his finger.. bummer. i had to explain how to get it off.. I guess if you never wear rings you wouldn't know how to get them off.. he got it off and he can repeat it.. wonderful..

last night we spke with

last night we spke with Phils uncle who will be marrying us.. he is a pastor.. we had to decide stuff like orders of ceremony and so many choices.. I have no idea.. I don't really mind what we say.. it really dosen't matter .. there is a specific wording that you haev to say so that it maked the marraige lawful, but after that it can be anything.. so I am not certain as to what we decided.. I don't mind .. just so long as we get hitched..

there is also going to be timetable.. i didn't think we needed them but sabine thinks they are essential.. apparently people will want to know waht is happening.. i don't understand.. so anyway i am not getting involved in that..

well I thought I had

well I thought I had better keep my blog up to date so that some people won't feel all left out.. hiants at the people in france.. hhehee.

yesterday was a big adventure.. we got heaps done.. I picked up my tupperware urder in the morning, we travelled to the far away place of northcote and did get a bit lost driving up and down the wrong street.. but we made it in the end.. Ya came along on a little ride as well.. we went to the chocolate shop in abbotsford.. the cheap place with oh so many chocolates and lollies.. I got heaps.. and I mean heaps.. from there it was off into the city to pick up a bunch of travel things .. I didn't go .. I stayed int he car with Ya and Carloyn and we chatted..

(ohh it is sYa's 26th birthday on friday and I have purchased some presents for him.. Hoorah!.. I need to get some more stuff.. I can't talk about it here because he might find out what it is.. hhmm only till tomorrow.)

then we dropped Ya off at this place so that he could do soem study and meet potential new housemates..
man scary.. meeting new house mates.. i have never lived with strangers.. just my friends .. much safer .. but i suppose Ya and Carloyn met because they are stangers sharing a house..

then we went off and picked up the wedding rings.. hoorah! they look fabulous.. and my engagement ring is all sparkly.. as is my mums engagement ring that I had the band fixed.. it is so strong now.. ace!

so there was more shopping and all sorts of looking at shops and ice cream eating .. even though it is about 12 degress asnd pissing down with rain.. but yummo..
