more scans today

I will be leaving work in about an hour as we are off to get another ultrasound done.. well I will be getting the ultrasound and Phil will be watching..

the reason for the late scan is to check on the baby's size.. the dr seemed to think the baby was a tad small.. and there is only so much you can tell from the outside...

anyway we have decided that since we have lasted this long without knowing the gender that we are going to keep it a surprise.. hoorah for surprises..

I will be missing cake at work this afternoon.. oohh well.. i'm sure i can have cake another day.. I am also missing out on the office clean up.. what a good idea..

poor trees

I just called up the manningham council..

I have been driving along the freeway for months looking out the window (Phil is driving I am the passenger) and seeing all these trees with plastic wrapped around their bases.. it's from when they were planted and had stakes with wind shields around the trees .. but those tiny trees have grown into big trees and now have wooden stakes trapped under the plastic strangling the base of the tree..

so anyway I have been meaing to call the council for months.. and today I finally did it.. and a nice lady took down the details and my details and is (hopefully) going to send out a garden person to check on the trees..

I am a bit worried about the trees... there is heaps of them.. they line the freeway and they also are on the edge of the park.. all in nice lines and most with plastic wrap around their base..

So now I will just have to wait and see if the plastic gets removed.. poor trees..

muscles I never knew I had

There is all these hurty muscles inside me..

I have been getting really sore areas under my chest.. it feels like there is a big bruise.. but those aren't too bad.. and after a few weeks you stop moving in ways that makes them hurt.. but now I am getting more hurty muscles in the groin area.. oohh dear..

it is a tad annoying.. walking is hard work.. i had to sit down this morning to put on my pants as I couldn't stand on one leg.. and every time I stand up they are all achey..

but there is only 9 weeks to go.. so I think I can hold on a bit longer..
oohh scary ..

I have only 12 work days left.. then I can relax at home..
I have noticed that I have been cleaning more.. I must be nesting..

more dr visits

we went to the obstetritician yesterday... things seem to be going okay.. i need to get another scna done as the dr is a little concerned about the baby's size.. he doesn;t seem really worried but just think that it feels a little small.. so anyway I have an appointment to get the scan done on friday afternoon..

we are going back in another 2 weeks to see the dr.. we will have the results ready for him then.. I am not too concerned as there is lots of movemetn.. that is somthing that would worry me much more.. lack of movement could be scary.. so anyway we will wait ans see what happens..

not so good

i haven't posted in a while as last week my father passed away.. there has been much to do.. there was funeral directors to organise, church service to organise with the father, wake to organise .. I did a few thigns and my brother did a few things.. it was really hard work.. we had like 5 days of activities.. meetings with people and creative design with the church service booklets..

I have never had to organise such things beofre.. it was really hard work.. its amazing.. there is so much to do and get ready and the silly thing is that my dad already left some instructions so we didn;t have to think up what we had to do...

anyway i am back to work on monday..

intruders!

I have just been off to the bathroom, which is in the lift foyer, which is beyond the locked doors of the floor.

as I cam back there was this odd looking guy walking towards me hesitantly.. he stopped, waited till I walked past and then followed me to the door (there are 4 doors) i could see his reflection in the glass door..

so I stopped in front of the door to see what he did..
he stopped too and looked at me..

basically the conversation went like this:
him - I don't have a key
me - do you have a pass ?
him - shows me his visitor day pass (has no picture, I will usually let people in who have picture cards)
me - who do you want to visit?
him - i want to use the trl hotspot
me - we don't haev hot spots on this floor
him - umm.. some one let me in this morning.. I can;t remember his name
me - we can call someone if you like
him - oohh I'l just go see the trl people
me - there are no trl people on the floor, they left a few months ago
him - is this the 7th floor ?
me - yes (not to mention the big signs that says 7th floor)
him - oohh well I can just look for them
me - why don't you give them a call first..
him - hhmm..
so then he sort of wanders off and i go inside..
he then comes back to near the door and uses the phone..

then he disappears..

strange..

all nervous now

this morning I had to dial in to a meeting to discuss changes that are requiring an outage.. I have a planned change for sunday morning...

It is really scary.. as you have to defend your changes.. it makes it hard because I don;t really care about the changes.. its not like I am the business person that has decided they want these things .. I am just the person that built some of them and are now installing them onto the machines..

so anyway its kind of scary.. cos what if they ask questions that i can't answer ..

oohh well all done now.. approved..

stuff

Dzunga! Dzung came in to visit a little while ago.. apparently he had many misadventures .. he is heading back to china in about 6 weeks.. for 16 weeks.. getting the travel bug out of his system..

My dad is not looking so good.. last night when we went to visit he was all drugged up because he had been getting very anxious over the day and trying to get out of bed and stuff like that.. his calcium levels are up high again.. so we didn't stay long as he was all sleepy..

Elsa's birthday was yesterday .. we went to visit for dinner.. and had some cake and ice cream and lasagne and soup.. all the reverse order..

anyway back later.. time to visit Mr Ed.

dr visits yesterday

yesterday we only had to wait about 15 mins for the dr.. there was not heaps of people waiting.. it was pretty good..

He took the blood pressure.. all normal..
listened to the baby's heartbeat ... all normal..
felt where the baby was positioned and said that it is upside down on its side..
amazing taht they can tell these sorts of things..

the results form the glucose test were normal.. hoorah!

so we go back in another 2 weeks..
we are up to week 29 .. only 11 weeks to go..
perhaps I should go shopping and get soem supplies.

knitting last night

there was knitting on again last night.. I hadn't got around to finding ingrediants for a new project, so I made some more crocheted flower thingies..

Elissa finished off her Beanie and its really snazzy.. she is a bit excited..

Carolyn has also taken up felting.. hard work but she is excited about it.. I did't really like her tie thing that she made, only because it was brown.. she is a brown girl I am not.. it would have been fabulous in a nice shade or blue and purple.. but great effort on the actual felting part..

Sabine was embroidering and instructing elissa on the stitches she needed to do. so many things going on..

weddings, babies and sleep

the weeekend was full of excitement..
we ogt up bright and early for the big wedding on Saturday..

Congratulations to Misty and Ben!
It was a great day.. long.. but fabulous.. everything was just lovely..
It was freezing up in the hills at like 11 am.. but I had a big cape thing that I created on friday night to keep me warm.. and later on at the reception there was plenty of heat..

I also visited my dad on sunday in his new room.. they shifted him to a 2 bedroom room and there is no one else in there at the moment so he is getting much better sleep.. and he can control all the lights and noise and stuff..
he must haev been feeling better as he even watched some tv.. the footy was on..

I also vistited with (Margy and Kate) Gabe yesterday... and little Sophie.. who is just lovely.. apparently she has hairy shoulders, which she would have inherited from her father, but i didn't get to see as she was all wrapped up .. nice and warm..

I also made a yummy curry for dinner last night.. yummo..

Elissa came along and was very excited to be making a beanie for Mick.. she has also progressed onto pearl.. oohh... and she is combining the two to make rib.. she is very excited as she is using thick wool and large needles.. it will be done in no time..

so I was cranky and had to buy a few things that were okay.. I got smoe jumpers.. they can keep me warm and I can wear anythign underneath.. hoorah!
